A Little Pretender

A young girl is standing on a corner
Sweeping around by her two little eyes
Hoping she would find her fellows

Across the street some older girls are waving hands to her
Calling out to play some dolls together
That young girl is smiling and laughing later

But that young girl is keep standing on the corner
Watching the older girls who’re playing dolls together
She’s wondering why they don’t ask her to play together

While the older girls are keep playing their dolls
Watching the young girl who’s standing on the corner
They’re wondering why she doesn’t want to join them

Those girls aren’t talking at all to each other
Being busy with their own minds and their dolls
Those girls are pretending that they don’t care anymore

While the young girl who’s standing on the corner crying
A very quiet cry but keep going on
But then, she’s standing still with a head up on

She’s pretending that she doesn’t care to those older girls anymore
She says bravely to herself, “I can be happy without them.”
She’s just a little pretender
